Members of the Internet Fan Club can award players marks out of ten for their performance today. The player with the most points awarded in the two days following a match will be the IFC Man of the Match. All of the points will then be added to a running total for each player and the results published in the mom League Table.

| MATCH SUMMARY |
Queens secured their first three points of the season this afternoon against a Livingston side whose 6' 7" Polish goalkeeper, Marius Liberda, produced a hatful of super stops to deny Queens. It was the performance of the Pole that prevented a comfortable victory and provided a nervous final five minutes for the fans.
With injuries and suspensions the theme of the season so far it was a relief to see both Jim Thomson and Jim Lauchlan back in the heart of the defence. However due to Eric Paton's injury Jamie McQuilken took on the role of right back and Bob Harris stepped in at left back. The middle of the park was strong with Burns, MacFarlane, Tosh and Scally whilst our first choice strike force in Dobbie and O'Connor both started. On the bench were Bingham, Mole, O'Neill, Grindlay and the 'free to leave' Andy Aitken. Livingston started the match the stronger side but appeared to lack any great firepower upfront. Queens however soon weathered the visitors storm and in six minutes Stephen Dobbie almost beat the offside trap with a neat turn and shot that just flew past the post. The same man should have done better three minutes later as he raced through on the keeper, but Liberda demonstrated his skill early on with a good block to deny Dobbs. Queens were enjoying the bulk of the pressure by the quarter hour mark and a combination of Dobbie, Burns and O'Connor managed to work an opening for Dobbie who rifled an effort past the post. |

Liberda then demonstrated great shot stopping ability by denying low efforts from both O'Connor and then Dobbie with his legs as he used his full frame to great effect. There wasn't much coming from Livingston in terms of goal chances as Queens pressed for that elusive opener, Neil Scally heading an effort from a Jamie McQuilken corner into the arms of the keeper. The moments later, almost on the half hour mark Liberda made a superb reaction save to flick away a superbly worked effort that saw Sean O'Connor fire the ball across goal and Stephen Dobbie, with his man marker on his shoulder, stick out his toe to turn the ball towards the roof of the net.
The best effort of the half for the visitors came on thirty four minutes as Liam Fox slammed an effort from 25 yards that was close enough to make Jamie MacDonald dive at full stretch to see it slip past the post. With the half coming to a close the final five minutes saw another two great chances for Queens. First up was Stephen Dobbie as he was released on goal but seemed to run out of steam and elected to shoot early only to see his weak effort trundle past the post. Then the best chance of the half fell to Sean O'Connor and the big man will want to forget it very quickly. Paul Burns played the ball across goal wrong footing the Livvie defence and opening up almost the entire goal to the usually deadly Sean O'Connor, however from a mere six yards out Sean somehow contrived to blast the ball a good distance over the bar when it seemed easier to tap it in. |

The second half began as the first had ended with Queens dominating the chances but finding Liberda in fine form. Five minutes in and both O'Connor and Dobbie managed to get in each others way enough to prevent either of them getting an effort in on goal.
With just less than ten minutes of the half gone that vital goal eventually did arrive. And it wasn't from either of the big guns as it fell to Neil Scally to get that precious strike. It will not go down as one of the prettiest goals seen at Palmerston, Steve Tosh and Paul Burns worked well together and Tosh fed the ball into Scally in the middle of the box, with the attention of Patrick Noubissie, Scalls managed to 'sclaff' his effort over the line to the delight of the crowd. |

Livingston then became more focused and as Queens sat back a bit their forwards began to get more success. Steven Weir, brother of former Queens striker Graham, was denied a good chance by a skilfully timed intervention by Jamie McQuilken as the makeshift right back denied the diminutive front man in the box on the hour mark.
Paul Burns could have done better as he capitalised on confusion in the box as a long clearance bounced awkwardly for a defender who under pressure from Dobbie allowed the ball to run loose to Burns, the new member of the 100+ club blasted the ball over the top as he swivelled to shot back toward goal. |

In the last eight minutes Gordon Chisholm made all three of his substitutions with Mole for Dobbie, Bingham for Tosh and O'Neill for MacFarlane.
Whilst Queens defended in depth and Livvie attempted to make a last ditch equaliser Queens broke away. Sean O'Connor produced some fine play in the corner flag with two Livvie players in attendance the big striker came out with the ball and homed in on the six yard box, he then spotted David Bingham running in and fed the ball into his path, there wasn't too much wrong with Bingham's effort but somehow Liberda managed to throw himself at the ball and keep the score at 1-0. |

This was a workmanlike performance from Queens today and they certainly deserved the points, on another day against another keeper the score could have been four or five quite easily. A clean sheet was also pleasing with both Jim Thomson and Jim Lauchlan back in the middle.
