MATCH SUMMARY
Queens ended their three match unbeaten run today in convincing style to league leaders Arbroath, and yet again the Dumfries defence leaked goals. On the other hand ex-Palmerston favourite Jim Thomson was outstanding at the heart of the Red Lichties defence and Tam Bryce enjoyed his role as playmaker in the middle of the park.

Unfortunately there was nothing much to enjoy for the travelling support as a Queens team turned out with another face missing after Paul Harvey's transfer to Motherwell on Thursday evening. New signing John Dickson (See News), turned in a steady performance in midfield and had a couple of chances to net on his debut although he did send over the corner from which George Rowe netted the second consolation goal a few minutes from the end.

As the score suggests Arbroath had the match pretty well their own way and indeed the hands of John Hillcoat were necessary on a few occasions to keep the score down. Having said that Queens made a few chances with both Mark Weir and Charlie Adams having good efforts saved and shaving the bar respectively in the first half.

Changes were made in the second half and the introduction of Bryan Caldwell certainly perked up the forward line, indeed it appears as though we have a new free kick expert as Caldy scored direct from one in the seventy first minute.

In-between the two Queens goals however, veteran hitman Colin McGlashan netted a hat trick and Arbuckle scored two.

It would be nice to be able to have the same eleven players taking to the park each week and allowing a degree of understanding to develop, however things don't look like settling, infact they are set to get worse as George Rowe picked up another booking today which will result in him missing a few matches.
