On form Queens inflicted promotion certainties and league leaders Livingston's first home defeat of the season and only their third defeat on any park today. Another confident performance from the young defence only marred by the needless sending off of David Lilley for kicking the ball away, an assured midfield performance from engine drivers Cleeland and Leslie and the now usual creativeness of wide midfielders Weir and particularly Townsley and a new but just as effective front pairing of Nesovic and Adams causing all sorts of trouble in the Livvie defence.

Livvie started well and could well have been 2-0 up within the first ten minutes, but with no one to get on the end of firstly a left wing and secondly a right wing cross the Queen's goal remained intact. Queen's weathered the storm and were soon showing the form of recent weeks. Deggsie collected the ball in his own half and went off on a charge upfield, his height often belies his turn of speed but he easily outstripped the Livvie defence and slotted the ball home to open the scoring.

Shortly after the ever improving Charlie Adams tested his range and popped one just over, but this was just a taster for the second goal. Queens won a corner on the right and Jamie McAllister with his sweet left foot sent over a lovely ball which that man Townsley flicked on to the waiting Charlie Adams who had no hesitation in slamming the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-0 at the break.

In the second half Queens sat back a bit more and as a result Livvie came more into the match. First Deggsie turned into goal saver and cleared a ball off the line with David Mathieson beaten, then Smiler made a tremendous save to keep his goal intact and finally Andy Aitken had to be called upon to clear the ball off the line. In the 87th minute the Queens goal finally succumbed when a free kick from Boyle found its way through the Queens defence.

The only black mark on an otherwise perfect performance was the sending off of David Lilley for a second bookable offence which was kicking the ball away at the award of a free kick. Alex Nesovic also managed to get his name taken.

Results elsewhere were favourable this week for a change with Arbroath being trounced by Forfar 5-2, East Fife losing 4-0 at Inverness, Clyde beating Partick 1-0 and Stirling drawing 1-1 with next weeks opponents Alloa.

Finally we are out of the relegation spots and on this form should be well clear within a couple of weeks.
