Members of the Internet Fan Club can award players marks out of ten for their performance today. The player with the most points awarded in the two days following a match will be the IFC Man of the Match. All of the points will then be added to a running total for each player and the results published in the mom League Table.

| MATCH SUMMARY |
Gordon Chisholm was content to stick with the same starting eleven as had featured at Greenock last weekend. The only change to the squad being the inclusion of Robert Campbell at the expense of Brian Gilmour on the bench.
This was the clash of the two form teams in the division and the fear was that both sides would cancel each other out. However this was not to be and a thoroughly entertaining game of football was played out in front of the near 2230 fans who had turned out on what was a pleasant Saturday afternoon. Jamie McQuilken came close for Queens early on as the former Saintee just failed to connect with a cross from a move built by O'Connor and setup by Dobbie. It only delayed matters until the 13th minute as the same combo produced a goal. Jamie McQuilken pounced on the ball from Dobb's and drove it low into the back of the net leaving his former Gretna team mate Alan Main helpless. Queens almost paid the price for a slip up in the middle of the park when Jim Thomson on the halfway line tried to play the ball off Liam Craig for a throw. The ball didn't make it out and fell nicely for Craig who strode forward into the box, he maneuvered himself and shot goalward only to be denied by a superb save by Jamie MacDonald as the keeper got his hand low close to the side of his body and blocked the ball. A goal looked likely though as a number of Saints forwards zeroed in on the six yard box. However great defending by a combination of all of the back four denied a clear sight of goal - until that is the ball fell for the highly rated Andy Jackson who suffered an embarrassing moment as he completely fluffed his shot in front of goal and the ball rolled away to safety.
Saints enjoyed their best period of pressure for the remainder of the half but without giving Jamie MacDonald any great trouble. Infact Sean O'Connor could have done better than blast over the bar when set up by Stephen Dobbie just on the half hour. Just before half time Ryan McCann was booked. The second half started with Queens very lively and Stephen Dobbie determined to cause trouble in the visitors penalty area. He dribbled past McInnes a couple of times before sliding the ball across to Sean O'Connor in front of goal but in truth the front man's first touch should have been his last touch as he tried to set the ball up rather than shoot.
Andy Aitken then completed the booking count for Queens as he was just a little over optimistic in a sliding tackle. With St Johnstone pressing Queens set up a counter attack. Stephen Dobbie was first away with the ball and spotted Steve Tosh making a run down the left, he fed the midfielder who looked like he might shoot but instead waited for the arrival of Sean O'Connor before putting the ball into the big man's path. Another move straight of the training ground almost produced a goal a few minutes later as a Bob Harris throw in was headed on by Stephen Dobbie into the path of Steve Tosh who volleyed it goalward but just past the post with Main well beaten.
Queens second panic of the game came in the 75th minute. The ball looked to have been well saved and gathered by Jamie MacDonald but it was still in play. Saints forwards desperately attempted to put it in the net and it took a goal line clearance from Bob Harris to deny them the goal. It did however only delay the consolation strike by a few minutes as Andy Jackson produced a cool lobbed finish over MacDonald to give the visitors hope and the Queens fans the worry. Almost immediately Gordon Chisholm opted to give the team some fresh legs and put on John Stewart to cause some trouble. It was however the Tosh and O'Connor combo that caused the trouble as Tosh this time took the ball down the right before crossing for Sean to smash home number three and settle nerves of most of the Queens fans. John O'Neill came on for the goal scorer for the last few minutes and Sean received a standing ovation as he left the field.

There was to be no last minute double equalisers from the Saintee's this time and Queens thoroughly deserved their victory today. A sold defence, a commanding midfield and the two best strikers in the league - there's no secret to the success really!
