Another 3-0 scoreline in favour of Queens this season in what was perhaps the most impressive display for some time, certainly in the first half when Stirling were swept away by the powerplay from the midfield and an impressive performance from the much maligned Charlie Adams.

Queens never looked in any trouble at all in the first half and David Mathieson must have had one of his quietest afternoons for some time. The Palmerston frontline with Charlie Adams replacing Stevie Mallan exhibited a turn of pace that was able to capitalise on the midfield dominance of Cleeland and Leslie with the skillful wingplay of Weir and in particular Townsley causing much panic in the Stirling defence who looked lacking in organisation and unsure of what system they were playing.

The game started brightly and within six minutes Queens had taken the lead, gangly Derek Townsley collected the ball across the face of the box, wandered into the penalty area, strolled past a couple of Albion defenders and slammed the ball into the bottom corner, it looked too easy.

If you expected Queens to sit back a bit after the goal, forget it, the concentration is there now and infact they seemed even more intent on increasing the lead, indeed Charlie Adams had a couple of chances which he hit over the bar. In the twenty first minute however there was a momentous occasion when Charlie Adams recorded his first goal for Queens and how he enjoyed it, released on the right hand side of the box by Deggsie, Charlie found the keeper racing toward him and promptly lobbed the ball over his head and into the gaping goals. His celebrations lasted longer than it took to score but he certainly enjoyed it and lets hope we see some more next week when he is sure to start versus Livingston.

This "new" Queens team showed again just before half time that they don't sit back at all any more when Marc Cleeland was released through the middle again by big Deggsie, took a few paces forward with the ball and then coolly dispatched his hot into the net past the helpless keeper. 3-0 and it wasn't even half time yet. A fourth could so easily have came when Mark Weir broke away down the left and chose to shoot instead of squaring to the lone figure of Townsley who was begging for the ball so that he could side foot it in. It was not to be however and the half finished at 3-0.

The second half was never going to match up to the first but Queens still made a few chances, the best of which was when Nesovic, a second half substitute for the tiring Townsley took a lovely free kick from ten yards outside the box which the keeper managed to assist onto the post(See photos).

The sponsors gave the man of the match award to Charlie Adams, however an unsung hero of recent weeks deserves credit for securing the right hand side of the pitch and that is David Lilley who never put a foot or head wrong the whole match and is maturing into a class player.

Other results this week did not go our way at all, somehow Livvy only managed a draw with East Fife and Caley completely messed up by going down 3-1 at Arbroath. So basically we are still in second bottom position but the gap between us and sixth is now only three points.
